Spring
2001

(Morning of February 16, 2001) The few weeks leading up to the Spring
Equinox on March 20, 2001 look full of explosive, combative energy.
By the time Spring rolls around, we are likely to be hearing about
the aftermath of a power scenario with another country and/or political
party (2.16.01 -- CNN -- by afternoon US had bombed Iraq; and on
2.22.01 --CSPAN -- Hillary answers press questioning her brother's
pardon and returns the $400,000.) March 9 through March 17,2001
-- peace negotiations begin to look more like push negotiations.
There are parties pulling back.
Once Spring has sprung, newsworthy events are around our struggling
economy and on-going power struggles with other parties. Political
challenges continue to pose chaotic situations. Bush's good faith
is apparent. He is indeed what he says -- "a compassionate conservative,"
BUT who is leading from the wings? Finally, Democrats are in limbo
as they watch Bush's team make some monumental structural changes
in leadership this quarter (3.22.01 -- Bush slashes into Clinton's
environmental efforts which sends EPA reeling).
Spring
and Summer look tough on the economy. Big businesses are going to
be effecting the prosperity of this nation. Reality poses some hardships
for Americans and this is bound to effect the psychology of the
people. (2.22.01 -- CNN -- Nasdaq slides into dangerous territory,
casting serious doubts to the nation.) Would going to war really
help the economy? The stock market looks good approaching the Full
Moon May 7, 2001. I think we could see another mild rally mid-June.
It doesn't look great, it just looks like a mild rally. Labor conditions
pull back or slow after March 9 through April 20, 2001. Also, for
these dates, we may all be feeling that the money just ain't there.
So, you may just want to save for that ‘rainy day.' More on this
later.
We
can expect to see Bush having an increased sensitivity toward minority
groups this Spring. (That can be good and bad depending on the minority
group.) Bush can anticipate continued challenges with economic and
political situations of the nation Mar 21, Apr 17, May 15, and June
11 of 2001. These dates just look like a continuation of another
go around with a stressed economy and the political havoc. This
quarter it looks like President Bush is dealing with moral decisions,
minority and religious ideas and foreign trade issues. The media
finally gets some good stories in May.
Bush's
partners, e.g., Cheney, Powell, look like they have a very strong
say with the direction and leadership in this country. When I look
at this Spring chart in comparison to the transits around Bush's
chart, I want to ask, "Will the real leader please stand up?" Basically,
Bush's partners have a VERY large say in the direction of the country.
Military negotiations pull back (3.18.01 -- NPR -- NATO pulling
troops out of Cosovo) or slow after Mar 9 through April 20, 2001
(give a day or two on either side).
What
looks amazingly peculiar to me this Spring is that the Democratic
party appears to be lifeless, and not at all loyal. If I had
to describe the configuration I see in the Spring chart, it just
looks as if they are just hanging back -- getting to know what changes
President Bush is all about. We are likely to be hearing from them
on and around April 20th-21st. It looks like there is an opportunity
for them to get in on the political "partnership" act. It may have
something to do with financial partnerships with neighboring countries
or this education bill, e.g., NAFTA. Plans made with neighboring
countries are likely to move forward over the Summer.
