January
We enter 2009 after a very busy and powerful Christmas vacation.
Plans that have been considered are now on their way. There
have been recent opportunities to restructure your thoughts,
habits, work, and health. Hopefully, you are ready to implement
after the New Year gets started! This year is about saying
goodbyes to old realities. There will be lots of opportunities
to show your love and passions. So, what are you waiting for?
You'll want to begin before the full moon on the 10th. If
starting new plans doesn't work out this month, there will
be a window of time beginning next month. Look for the New
Moon.
Mercury goes retrograde from the view of the Earth from January
10- Feb 1st. This is a time NOT to sign, buy, sell, divorce,
marry, or fly if you can avoid it! Usually, all the information
is not available at the time; you can expect delays in travel
and communication problems. If you have to do the above, just
watch, observe and learn, so you can understand better the
language of the heavens. Of course, this is a good time to
redo, review old plans, writings, communications etc.
February
This is a busy month, especially the end of the month. Change
is on the way. Optimism is easier to come by. Compassion steps
in. Use the energy out there to make new plans first half
of month. In fact, this is a great month to build toward long
term changes in your life. First week, thoughts of restructuring
life seems easier. Nevertheless, you'll be ask to address
the weaknesses and vulnerabilities. Serve the whole. Get out
and make some friend. This is a good month for love, money
and artistic expressions. Nevertheless, there is a passion
in the air that can lead to cut offs. I would suggest that
you lean to altruism, socializing and the unusual.
March
This is a tricky month for other's plans conflicting with
your own. The concept of giving is not as easy this month.
There are plenty of opportunities to listen to your gut. Relations
are cooling and/or withdrawing until mid-April. Expect power
and control issues the second half of March. You can't shove
a square peg in a round hole! Watch finances. You may be overspending
or money is held back. Nevertheless, this too shall pass.
Whew! What a roller-coaster ride of changes yet to come. This
is not a good month for cosmetic make-over's because Venus,
the planet of beauty in retrograde from the perspective of
Earth.
April
Is there a rainbow after the storm? Intense ambitions mixed
with control arise this month. It would seem that help is
on the way for the vulnerable as well as the vulnerable area
of your life. A good time to get away, take a vacai…
would be April 3- 5th. The 7- 15th, you can gain support for
your plans. The 12- 18th, is an accident prone time, so take
it easy. I would anticipate cut-offs and break-up energy.
This is not a good time for cosmetic surgeries, wait until
after the 18th-. That is because Venus is retrograde. It's
a buyer's market if it weren't for the aesthetics and upkeep.
All month there is a tendency to judge others harshly. Expect
some embarrassing moments with loved ones. This lingers until
mid-May.
May
Most of the month of May, we can expect communication foul-ups
and mishaps. Allow extra time to get where you are going because
Mercury will be retrograde from May 7-31. This is a time NOT
to sign, buy, sell, divorce, marry, or fly if you can avoid
it! Usually, ALL the information is not available at the time;
you can expect delays in travel and communication problems.
If you have to do the above, just watch, observe and learn,
so you can understand better the language of the heavens.
Of course, this is a good time to redo, review old plans,
writings, communications etc.
I would
anticipate some newsworthy events with the full story hard
to get. It's easy to be popular this month. The question is
what do you want to be known for? Leadership shows signs of
weakness. Taxation may be a theme behind the scenes. Actually,
there are signs of weakness all over the world. If you can,
it is best to postpone major decisions at this time. A peculiar
planetary line-up steps in place this May. My interpretation
would be to check technology twice.
The first
half of the month is a good time to work with authority, your
reputations can shine. Also, caring for the elderly is highlighted.
Mid-month, you can expect problems for leadership- this includes
parents, teachers, business owners, presidents and CEO's.
The second half of the month is a good time to gain support
for your plans.
June
Leadership is under such stress this month. The projected
problems from 2007 on the economy and war are now more obvious.
This is a good time for a vacation with stable relationships.
Your plans are likely to be memorable. Any emotional upsets
and disturbances can be helped by that tried and true friend
or family member. Yes, there is a war zone out there this
month. At the same time, a very creative and optimistic month
marked with maverick-like tendencies. So, who are the mavericks?
It's like saying 'some people do better under stress'. I would
like to say an evolution is due in the information technology
sector or should I say, "ur kids want a new fone?"
Passion, even compulsiveness can arise this month under unusual
circumstances from the 19th -27th. This could be around money,
things, love, values, religion or otherwise. Expect this energy
to co-exist with the rest as a back drop to this month. Oh
Holy Wars!
July
Try to have a philosophical outlook. We keep getting these
shocks or wake-up calls for change. This can be a good month
to gain through your efforts and work. Yes, it looks like
worry that steps in. It may be covered with sarcasm. Are we
talking 'taxes'? Is there a treaty being worked on to pull
out of war? Are you able to reconcile the differences in your
life? Use those flashes of intuition to your benefit. Above
all, this is a good time to put effort into staying calm as
the heat keeps rising into August. There is a tendency to
spend and beautify more as the month moves on. Relationships
go out of bounds, too.
August
This is an irritating month. Hard work is required. The temperatures
run hot. Relations are way out there. Emotional upsets are
likely. The on-going -as well as -developing saga on restructuring,
the potential war and financial heartaches continues. We are
likely to encounter some unfriendly circumstances. Depression
is not out of the question. Faith and optimism continues to
shine on American leaders to make the right decisions. These
are maverick-like changes continue. Money will be spent this
month, unavoidable. Taxes might be a hot topic. On the positive
side, expect some breakthroughs in technology and sciences;
revolutionary work.
September
It would seem that those in need, the vulnerable, are getting
help. It looks like the aggressive aspects carried over from
last month will begin to calm toward the end of this month.
Expect travel delays, communication problems from September
7-29th. Allow extra time to get where you are going. Mercury

not the past. Finally, I think this month calls for patience
and discipline.
October
Newsworthy events come to the fore with long term plans underway
this month. In the 1st week, I see financial disappointments
and adjustments with homes and family matters. It's a drain.
After the 11th, authority, leadership and status are put into
stressful situations. This includes parents as well! Leadership
does come in to help those in need, but it's like working
with adolescent children. If you are in a position of authority,
patience is likely a key. There are some good days to make
some money and sign this month! Check it out.
November
A good month to move forward with those changes you want.
This is astrologically a good time to act. There may be a
tendency to overspend this month. There are some decent dates
to sign in November amongst a bit of an unclear backdrop.
Make sure you check all the facts. It's also a month for exercise
to get rid of the aggressiveness that seems to pop up. Some
restraining will be necessary. There are some good party dates.
The month ends with desires up!
December
Diplomacy is a really a good idea the first half of this month.
It just seems like selfishness and ego can get in the way
of some really altruistic statements or moments and that just
plain ruins it. OUCH! Desire and passions go against the grain.
Mistakes are possible 8th-22. I've included some good days
to Christmas shop. I hope this helps to plan your month.

It's the day before the US elections. Obama is ahead in the polls,
and in my research from 2007 for 2008, I wrote on-line, "This
time the vote does not look close. It will be obvious before the
election who is the winner and it will be just a matter of formalities."
So, I'm betting that it is Obama since he has a good lead.
Now let me change direction and bring you on a journey of what
the planets are whispering for 2009 and beyond.
A New Direction
The day of the elections marks a complete change of course for
the United States. It looks like there will be a drive to clean
house and to get rid of the inflated government as well as business
and to restore it. It will be just the beginning of a new era
where new thinking is required. There will be many changes toward
A New World Order that will take time, several years in fact.
We are likely to see a complete restructuring of governments around
the world over the next decade. There has been such an abuse of
power; it leaves a bad taste.
Restoring Respect
Obama is likely going to infuse faith back into the system. I
believe the economy and markets will rally their best against
a poor economic outlook the first half of 2009. Obama and his
cabinet will likely not have the same executive privileges that
Bush had. I see the power shifting toward Congress. We all must
watch being ambitious to a fault. Our government may begin to
look more toward Socialism and a government that takes more control.
Nevertheless, Americans will regain a sense of spirit and direction
in 2009.
Times continue with uncertainty and this does not help leadership
to stand tall. Obama will have to fight the watered down or weak
world image that Bush has left behind the last half of this year.
The strength of the next leadership is in pulling together the
voice of the people to make change and to address the wounds of
the time. Americans are looking for inspiration and dreams to
come from the next president. Obama can lead the people, but he
will also create opposition.
Inflation/Taxation
I see inflation. The last time the planets lined up like this
was in 1740 where in France the price of grains sky rocketed.
The people cried out. They charged that the minister Orry was
making "a million a week" and warned than if it continued
they would burn his house and he would be killed for making bread
so expensive. (Wikipedia, 2009.)
I suppose some positive news about the economy the first quarter
in 2009 may put secret plans in motion the 2nd quarter that is
likely to eventually tax the American people. Treaties may be
worked on behind the scenes to pull out of Iraq. There is a lot
going on behind the scenes. We won't know the full story on this
until the 2nd week in May 2009; even then it might be hard to
get the whole truth. Either way, we can expect an adrenaline rush
for the American people the 2nd week of May. And, that's putting
it nicely. By end of May, the optimism is likely to turn to inflation.
Socialism rears its head mixed with a conservative and authoritarian
stance. Times are tough for leaders.
Wars/Treaties
Treaties have begun to show up to end wars, but not until 09 and
beyond will the treaties begin to stick. This will cause other
wars. There are similarities between 2008-9 and 1763 that I would
like to mention. It was a time when the French and Indian War
was coming to an end. It was also a time when the Treaty of Paris
drawn. This treaty ended the war where France ceded Canada to
Great Britain. Also, the Treaty of Hubertusburg which put an end
to the Seven Year War between Prussia and Austria. A movement
has begun that is unstoppable. The Seven Years War was the precipice
for The American Revolution and the Declaration of Independence.
In English,
this war with Iraq may be scaling down, but as it does a bigger
war is just a few years away. Quite simply, a world war awaits.
It is years away where many countries are pulled in by land or
conviction. It looks like the leaders of Nato, USA, Canada, China,
Cambodia, Venezuela, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Philipines,
Italy, Ireland, are all involved somehow in the crisis that has
yet to present itself. In the meantime I ponder these questions
given the data infront of me....
Could a world economic tsunami cause war? What country would be
most upset if we started drilling in Alaska? What countries or
people would be unhappy with the US president from 2013-2016 that
would attack? Why?
Iran 2009
Astrological influences indicate Iran continues to build their
forces. Iran's homeland is very unstable and unsettled now. Astrological
echoes in history bring me to 1978-9 and the Iranian Hostage Crisis.
It was when Iran went from a monarchy rule to be taken over by
Ayatollah Khomeni and the Council of Islamic Revolution. The Ayatollah
put in motion an Iranian Revolution that would lead away from
western ideologies. The Shah sought refuge in the U.S. and the
Ayatollah wanted him to stand trial. In response, President Carter
refused and put the US on gas rations while US relations with
Iran deteriorated. Also, the British Embassy in Iran was attacked.
I would expect more crises to develop between these two governing
ideologies.
Another astrological
echo would be American Embassy bombings in Nairobi, Kenya and
Kampala, Uganda. It was in 1996 when Osama declared jihad against
Americans and later bombed those American Embassies. Today, I
think we can include foreign based American hotels, too.
Terror aspects this year are nothing to what I see further into
the future FOR INSIDE THE US. July-September 2009 will tell us
more with a peak in August 2009. The economy and weather are included.
More Immediate
Wars
Zimbabwe
approaches a revolution and change of leadership. The current
president is likely to be overthrown within the next 3 years.
Mozambique
a coup? A war? What's with these two countries?
Tunisian
leaders face pressure to change. Upheavals in leadership that
upset the masses likely over the next few years.
Mali and
Ethiopia leaderships face a new way of thinking, under new
conditions.
Argentinians
are fired up about their leader. The pressure is on for her to
make change.
New Zealand
faces change in leadership and a change in their known realities
for how business is done. Time will tell. Limitations placed on
next leader.
Hardships For Business Leaders
This is not the year to be a business owner, CEO or president
of a company. Buckle down and make a plan. It's about cleaning
house. Currently, we are in the middle of watching a domino effect
from the mortgage meltdown to Lehman Bros where the CEO made over
450 million a year and had no bonus packages set up for his employees
(CNBC). Then, there are the Wachovia Banks that have seized to
a 70 billion dollar bailout package from the Federal Reserve for
Wall Street because of the mortgage melt down crisis. And, they
say this is just the beginning of the economic woes. It will last
the next several years. The astrological data supports this economic
forecast.
The Economic Tsunami
A student of mine came to see me the other day, she said, "Carrie,
in 2000 you said that there would be a recession in 2008 and that
it would be just the beginning." I said, "I remember,
I am surprised how bad it has already hit. No, actually I am in
shock, because it's just the beginning of the next 4 year cycle."
My husband who is very involved in the stock market and a skeptic
of astrology, remarked recently that the market was forming the
potential to move 2000 points in any direction, something he had
never seen before. He couldn't figure out which way it would likely
go. I said, "Down, when you add in the astrological data….
Quite simply…. Down!" We are still debating the subject.
The Great Depression
Yes, everyone is talking about how 2008 looks like the Great Depression.
Sure enough, the same planets that were in difficult aspects to
one another then, are moving into a closer formation even as I
write. This will continue into 2009 and they will dance together
until 2015. This past September and October '08, these planets
came closest to one another for the first time, and every time
the transiting Moon touched this formation with planets stationing,
the market dropped. It dropped between 400-800 points!
The next president, likely Obama, inherits a host of problems
that no one man can fix. A complete overhaul of the government,
Federal Reserve especially, is upon us.
So, my research suggests inflation and depression loom in the
background. Our attitude about the economy and work leans toward
the negative.
Socialize and Offer Random Acts of Kindness
Hardships are obvious. There is a drive from business leaders
to get out of the rut. Big businesses have a tough year ahead.
Our careers, reputations, responsibilities and boundaries stand
out in '09. Restructuring our lives may be at the core of all
our decisions now. Our need to cut back and be disciplined may
be intertwined into our New Year's resolutions. Changes have to
happen now. Even, how we see life is changing. The planets are
cajoling us very slowly to think differently over the next few
years.
Most of 2009 there will be opportunities to help those in need.
Domestic animals are included! This is where leadership can shine.
In our own lives, we may find that we are getting help for our
own weaknesses and vulnerabilities. Perhaps just being helpful,
helps us to shine.
This is a good year to socialize and make friends. Join a group
that is sensitive to your needs. This is a time frame to change
your priorities. Two thousand and eight was about discovering
our vulnerabilities and our weaknesses, e.g., the 'ouch' in your
life, or in the system? This year is about getting help in those
areas.
Conclusion for 2009
The questions for 2009 become; what changes do you need to make
in your life? What area do you need to clean up? What fears do
you need to address? Where do you have to cut back? Where do you
need to take control? When do you speak up to have your voice
heard? Who is there to listen? As an astrologer looking into the
planetary dance, these are the questions that I see developing
in 2009 for all. For 2009, it's K.I.S.S. Keep It Simple, St%&@#!

Foreword
This calendar has been written for and dedicated to my clients
and students who are often looking for the best
days to buy, sell or sign.
Quite often, I receive a call from clients wanting a good
date to get married, sign, sell or by some expensive item,
e.g., a house, a car etc. I am hoping that this calendar can
make it easier for everyone! This year I have included some
pleasant dates to vacation.
How to use this calendar: consider this calendar a little
companion to tuck away in your briefcase, next to the telephone,
or in your desk for when you have to make that quick decision,
like scheduling an appointment or when to fly to avoid pitfalls
of lost luggage and delays. I have worked hard to take out
the astrology language so that everyone can use it, especially
during these challenging economic times!
Sign. When you see, "sign" anywhere
in the calendar, these are good dates that include buying
and selling unless otherwise indicated. There is just not
enough room to write it all in the little space.
Eastern Time. This calendar has been calculated for
the East Coast of the United States. You'll have to do your
own math to recalculate if this calendar is used anywhere
else.
Eclipses. I would like to share a little secret on
how to use the energy of the planets to your advantage. The
day after any New Moon eclipse
is a good time to initiate long-term changes in your life-
a new job, a new diet etc. Make
your list, light a candle, say it out loud and plant a tree,
or a potato as conviction to your plan. Do it outside the
day after the eclipse. It works, even if your kids or dog
digs up the potatoes and brings them to you. It's about intention!
:-)
On the other hand, a Full Moon eclipse
is a time to rid yourself of things that you no longer want
or need in your life. For the Full Moon eclipse, make a list
of those things (cigarettes, alcohol,
drugs etc.), say it out loud, burn the written wish
and then flush it down the toilette. This should be done the
night before the Moon is full, outside. With both new and
full moons, try to include the 4 elements- fire (candle),
earth (dirt or salt), air (say it out loud), water. Lastly,
these should be thoughts that you have been thinking and working
toward for at least 6 weeks prior to the eclipses. So how
bad do you want it? Good Luck!
This is a significant year for eclipses. We have SIX eclipses
this year to the usual 4: January 26(new), February 9(full),
July 7(full), July 22(new), August 6(full), and December 31(full).
My experience with having a lot of eclipses in one year tells
me that this is a significant year of change. No doubt, we
have a new president with a new agenda. And, the world faces
a weak market, businesses will suffer. I would anticipate
huge changes in everyone's lives- a domino effect.
The perfect date? It is important to realize that there
are NO perfect dates, just better days than others. And, that
is what makes it so perfect!
Do the planets control us? NO!
They set the stage; you have to decide how to act. Karma pending...
